The Story of Erbi Ink
Erbi Ink started as an idea my father had when I was a teenager. The inspiration didn't come from a business meeting or a marketing strategy, it came from backyard hangouts and late nights with friends. Nights spent laughing, smoking, and simply enjoying the moments that, at the time, seemed ordinary but would later become some of our most cherished memories.
The name itself evolved over the years. It all started with a character drawn by a family friend that my father nicknamed "Herbie." Somewhere along the way, for reasons we can't even fully remember anymore, the "H" disappeared and the name became "Erbi." Years later, we created a crew in a popular video game and named it "Erbi Inc.," unknowingly giving birth to the name that would eventually become our brand. As our vision for apparel and artwork grew, "Inc." transformed into "Ink", a tribute to the creativity, artwork, and passion that would become the foundation of everything we built.
To us, Erbi Ink is far more than just a name. It's a collection of memories, friendships, and experiences that stretch back years. It's a reminder of family friends, the communities we built online, and the people who believed in the dream long before it ever became reality.
From the very beginning, the goal was simple: create an apparel brand in a space that felt saturated and stale. Everywhere we looked, it was the same designs, the same trends, and the same ideas recycled over and over again. We wanted to create something different—a brand that people could recognize instantly, not only by the logo, but by the personality behind it. We wanted people to see an Erbi Ink design and immediately know the kind of person wearing it.
At a time when marijuana legalization was still taboo across much of America, we wanted to give the culture a face that had character and charisma. We wanted to create a stronger voice for a movement that, in our eyes, deserved better representation than generic tie-dye and copy-and-paste graphics. We wanted to depict the real smokers of America: the artists, the creators, the dreamers, and the everyday people who had long been overlooked.
Even today, our mission remains the same as it was all those years ago: to create meaningful artwork, to push for greater acceptance of marijuana legalization, and to advocate for its use in medical practices as an alternative to the solutions pushed by big pharmaceutical companies.
For years, Erbi Ink existed only as an idea.
There were endless conversations, sketches, and dreams about what the brand could become. But there were also countless voices telling us that it was unrealistic—that it was nothing more than a pipe dream that would never amount to anything. At the time, those voices felt impossible to ignore. We had no roadmap, no experience, and no idea how to turn an idea into a real business.
Slowly, the dream faded into the background.
But it never disappeared.
The name "Erbi" continued to live on in gaming communities and among friends we had made online. Over the years, those communities became our first supporters, people who had heard us talk about the vision for so long that they started to believe in it themselves. Eventually, life took everyone in different directions, and most people assumed Erbi Ink would remain exactly what everyone said it was: just another dream.
As I grew older, though, I began learning how to turn my father's vision into reality.
I designed what would become the iconic Erbi Ink logo and slowly transformed my childhood bedroom into a makeshift office, gathering the equipment we needed to print our earliest designs. With my father's help, we spent countless nights experimenting, learning through trial and error, and preparing for local markets where we would sell our products to friends and family.
The day we printed our first shirt is something I'll never forget.
Seeing the look on my father's face was one of the few times I've ever seen him truly emotional. He stood there quietly for a moment, taking it all in, realizing that the dream he had carried with him for years, the dream that so many people said would never happen—was finally becoming real.
And then, it was as if a fire had been lit.
I'll never forget the pride I felt watching him carry that shirt around and show it to anyone who would look. He wasn't showing them a piece of clothing; he was showing them proof that his dream was alive.
Together, we spent long days and even longer nights working on an old heat press in my childhood bedroom, racing to finish orders and meet deadlines so we could make it to the next market. Those early years weren't glamorous. They were filled with mistakes, uncertainty, and countless hours of hard work.
But every second was worth it.
Watching my father realize that his dream was finally coming to life is the reason I'm still here today.
To us, every sale means far more than money. Every order is another reminder that Erbi Ink is no longer just an idea that lived in backyard conversations or online gaming communities. Every customer represents another person who believes in what we're building and another step toward fulfilling a dream that started years ago.
Even now, there are times when the road ahead feels impossible. There have been years without direction, moments when progress seemed nonexistent, and countless times when giving up felt like the easier choice. We've invested money, time, and pieces of ourselves into a dream that often felt stagnant.
But somehow, just when things seemed impossible, the people who had believed in us from the beginning would return. Old supporters who had followed our journey from gaming communities and childhood friendships kept tabs on our growth and reignited the passion that started all those years ago.
Today, we're more committed than ever to creating the best products we possibly can. Erbi Ink is more than clothing, it's years of memories, sacrifice, creativity, and the bond between a father
